We're looking for an experienced technology operations and security leader to take ownership of SCI's platform infrastructure, information security programme, and IT service delivery function. This is a hands-on leadership role - you'll set the security direction for the organisation, manage our MSP and vendor ecosystem, and ensure our technology platforms are reliable, scalable, and secure.
Reporting to the General Manager of Customer, Data and Technology, you'll operate as SCI's functional security lead and drive operational maturity across the technology estate. You'll manage a small team and work closely with our managed service provider, implementation partners, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading SCI's information security function - including DLP, CASB, endpoint protection, identity and access management, and security incident response
- Coordinating annual Allianz Group Security Audit responses and driving remediation and maturity uplift
- Managing platform infrastructure operations, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity
- Running the IT service desk and ITSM processes (incident, problem, change, and request management) using Jira Service Management
- Governing the MSP relationship through regular forums, performance reviews, and KPI management
- Building and maintaining a comprehensive internal knowledge base for platform and security operations
- Conducting AI platform risk assessments and managing tiered usage controls for sanctioned and unsanctioned tools
- Leading the cyber awareness programme, phishing simulations, and periodic penetration testing
- Supporting data platform security, including RBAC design and environment governance
- Developing security metrics and translating technical risk into executive-level reporting
About you
- Demonstrated experience in IT operations leadership within a regulated industry - financial services or insurance preferred
- Working knowledge of information security governance frameworks (APRA CPS 234, ISO 27001, NIST CSF) and their practical application
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure, and modern cloud infrastructure platforms
- Strong experience with ITIL processes and ITSM platforms such as Jira Service Management or ServiceNow
- Track record of managing MSP and vendor relationships, including contract governance and performance management
- Ability to communicate technical and security concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, information security, or a related discipline
- You must have full working rights in Australia to be considered for this role
